CanvasRebel Magazine’s Hidden Gems Series

I am beyond honored to be featured in CanvasRebel Magazine’s Hidden Gems series, where I had the opportunity to share my journey, insights, and advice for those new to the world of entrepreneurship. In the interview, I dive into the intersection of interior design and business, offering tips for anyone looking to make their mark in the design world.

One of the key trends I discussed is the growing DIY movement, inspired by platforms like HGTV, Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram. I revealed that I, too, was influenced by these platforms when I first got into interior design! However, as I progressed in my career, I quickly realized the importance of the technical aspects of the profession—like specifying and engineering spaces—which often goes unseen by DIYers. That’s what truly sets licensed professionals apart. While I embrace the occasional DIY project, I always strive to maintain a balance between creativity and professional expertise, especially when working within client budgets.

In addition, I shared a bit about my journey from Memphis, where I developed my love for art, to Atlanta, where I found my niche in interior design. After earning my national license in 2023, I launched my own firm, Anne Mason Design (AMD), which focuses on personalized, client-centric design solutions for homes and businesses alike.

If you’re just starting out in your entrepreneurial journey, my advice is simple: network, learn from others, and prioritize relationships. I've been fortunate to have mentors who shaped my business philosophy, and their influence, coupled with books like The E-Myth Revisited, have been invaluable resources in my growth.

A big thank you to CanvasRebel for featuring me and allowing me to share my story. If you’re curious to learn more, be sure to check out the full article:
