How Textured Neutrals Are Redefining Sophisticated Spaces in 2023

2023 Interior Design Trends: Textured Neutrals Take the Spotlight

Over the holidays, I was thrilled to collaborate with Meghan Bozeman of CFC Group for her 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway! As part of the event, Meghan interviewed designers to discuss the trends they see taking center stage in 2023. One trend I’ve been noticing—and absolutely loving—is Textured Neutrals.

This year, we’re moving beyond flat, monochromatic neutral palettes. Instead, designers are incorporating textures and layers to give these muted tones new life. Think soft, nubby fabrics, natural stone finishes, and organic, tactile elements like woven materials and subtle patterns. These textures create a sense of warmth and depth, making neutral palettes feel anything but boring.

In the giveaway video above, I shared some sophisticated palettes that embrace this trend. Whether it’s the interplay of creamy whites with earthy taupes or the addition of textured wood and ceramics, these designs create a harmonious balance of comfort and elegance.

2023 is already off to a busy start, and I can’t wait to show you how this trend comes to life in some of our upcoming projects. Keep an eye on the blog and Instagram feed for more inspiration, and let’s make this year a beautiful one filled with thoughtful, layered design!

What are your thoughts on textured neutrals? Are you ready to embrace this trend in your home or office?
