Redefining the Atrium for a Post-Pandemic Workplace
Designing Connection: A New Vision for Creekside Crossing’s Shared Atrium
As part of a larger office complex renovation in Brentwood, TN, our Creekside Crossing project aimed to breathe new life into a shared atrium space. With many workers returning to the office after the pandemic, the focus was on fostering connection and creating versatile, functional environments for socializing and coworking.
To achieve this, we divided the atrium into four distinct zones: two for lounging and two for coworking. These zones were thoughtfully designed to encourage collaboration while maintaining comfort and style. At the heart of the space, we installed a stunning RGBW 40-fixture chandelier, casting a dynamic glow that not only unifies the zones but also adds a contemporary touch to the atrium’s ambiance.
Our updates extended beyond the seating areas. We revamped the building directories and elevator lobbies, ensuring these elements align with the modernized aesthetic. For the tenants on the first floor, we prioritized visual privacy by incorporating design solutions that enhance both functionality and elegance.
Before the transformation, the atrium featured two large fountains and a grab-and-go booth—elements that, while functional in their time, felt outdated in today’s workplace. The reimagined space reflects a new era of work, combining style and practicality to support the evolving needs of its occupants.
