Designing for Connection: How We Turned an Old Tenant Space into a Modern Café

From Outdated to Outstanding: A New Tenant Café in Brentwood, TN

In the heart of Brentwood, TN, we had the exciting opportunity to transform an old tenant space into a modern café designed for everyone on campus to enjoy. What was once an underutilized area is now a vibrant, inviting café where professionals can grab a coffee, collaborate with colleagues, or take a well-deserved break.

Our vision for this project was to create a space that feels both stylish and comfortable. The design features sleek, modern furniture with rich textures and warm tones, creating a cozy yet professional ambiance. A mix of intimate booth seating and café-style tables provides options for both solo work and group conversations. The wood-paneled wall with vertical slats adds depth and warmth, while the contemporary pendant lighting enhances the sophisticated atmosphere. A large screen displaying scenic landscapes adds a dynamic and calming touch to the space.

Beyond aesthetics, this café was designed with functionality in mind. Thoughtful details such as built-in outlets and ergonomic seating ensure that tenants can seamlessly transition from a coffee break to a productive work session. The result is a space that fosters community, creativity, and connection—making it the perfect gathering spot for the entire campus.

Whether stopping by for a morning espresso or an afternoon meeting, this new café is now a welcoming hub for all.
