How to Style a Living Room for Spring with Vintage Charm
Want to know the secret to having a beautiful space? It’s all in the styling!
At Anne Mason Design, we believe that styling is the magic that ties everything together. Whether you’re in the middle of a renovation or just want a seasonal refresh, it’s those thoughtful final touches that make a room feel complete. In our latest reel, we take you behind the scenes as Anne styles a cozy living room vignette for spring—and trust us, the transformation is full of charm.
Our client’s home is being designed with a Vibrant Grannycore aesthetic in mind, but while the big pieces are still on the way, we were asked to style the living room using what they already had. The result? A warm, welcoming space filled with vintage finds, layered textures, and a fresh, springtime feel.
Here’s how Anne brought it all to life, step-by-step:
Step 1: Balance Furniture with Layout Adjustments
First, Anne made small layout tweaks to ensure the room felt balanced and inviting. Moving pieces just slightly can shift the flow of a space, making it feel more open and intentional.
Step 2: Place the Largest Focal Points First
Next, she anchored the room with its biggest elements—like a statement armchair and a vintage coffee table. Starting with focal points helps ground the space and makes it easier to build around them.
Step 3: Add Details to Make It Feel Lived-In
We love a styled space that doesn’t feel too precious. Anne layered in books, personal objects, and heirlooms that the client already owned. These little details tell a story—and give the room heart.
Step 4: Layer Textures for Visual Depth
Soft throws, woven baskets, and linen pillows brought warmth and texture into the mix. By blending different materials, Anne added richness and made the space feel extra cozy.
Step 5: Hang Wall Art to Finish the Space
Finally, a carefully chosen piece of wall art pulled the entire vignette together. It added height, color, and that polished, designer feel that completes the room.
The best part? Everything used was already in the home. By styling with intention, Anne created a spring-ready space that’s uniquely personal and totally gorgeous.
If you’re looking to refresh your space this season—without a full redesign—styling is a great place to start. And we’re here to help you do just that!
